SAFETY AND TRAINING

Safety and training are not only required by the state for licensing purposes but are essential in our licensed childcare program.

Required Training

All staff, upon hire, are provided with the following training courses detailed here:

  1. Sudden, Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome

  2. Abusive Head Trauma

  3. Mandated Reporting

  4. Pediatric First Aid

  5. Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  6. Orientation

  7. Allergy Prevention and Response

  8. Behavior Guidance

  9. Childcare Center Program Plan

  10. Emergency Preparedness

  11. Handling and Disposal of Bodily Fluids

  12. Handling Emergencies and Accidents

  13. Health Policies

  14. Individual Childcare Program Plan

  15. Job Responsibilities

  16. Program Drug and Alcohol Policy

  17. Risk Reduction Plan

  18. Child Development and Learning

Ongoing Training

The center director and staff members who work more than 20 hours per week are provided with their required 24 hours of in-service training each calendar year.  Staff members working 20 hours or less per week are provided with their required 12 hours of in-service training per calendar year.
